Cachero is a colloquial term for the male sex workers that work in around the many parks in Ecuador's capital of Quito. It's loosely translated as 'taxi boy', a name given to them because they are so often seen getting in and out of their client's taxis. In this quiet short, we follow David, a long time sex worker and activist, as he travels through the city to the park where he often meets his clients.

Shot in the summer of 2023 in Williamsburg, during the height of the Canadian forest fires whose smoke reached deep into New York, Silk on Skin While the World Burns was a way for three artists to seek shelter indoors and express their feelings of doom, anarchy, and hedonism. With the air thick with pollution and the sun burning red, the film became a form of catharsis, a visceral response to environmental collapse and personal urgency. The film is part of the One Minutes Collection, preserved by the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.
